Why I do what I do

My wife, Keri, and I traveled to Rwanda in 2008 to explore some opportunities the Lord had laid before us. We discovered that the most exciting opportunity we encountered required that I have a teaching license. Our plan was to go back to the states, obtain my teaching license and then return to Rwanda.

Since that summer, I've been taking multiple courses at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to obtain my Masters Degree in Middle Childhood Education, specifically fourth through eighth grade. I recently completed my first year teaching fourth grade at Stephens Elementary in Little Rock. Through my experiences at Stephens, my eyes have been opened to the tremendous needs of the children in my own community. Though I am willing follow God where he leads, God seems to have taken me all the way to Rwanda to show me I need to teach right here in Little Rock!

I have created Upgrade Tutoring to help students engage in a creative learning environment outside their classroom in hopes that they will gain confidence, excitement, and a passion to grow in their educational journey.
